Erin's Wedding!

Erin was married Thursday morning in the Mesa temple. Everything went very well. Here are some pictures of the two coming out of the temple for the first time as a married couple.

The rest are pictures taken around the temple grounds with my digital camera. We had Wendy's friend, Ashlee take a few pictures while the photographer was working with Adam & Erin.Ashlee and Wendy messing around with the camera.

After picture-taking we all headed over to the park across from the temple and ate lunch. Friday night was the reception, which turned out wonderfully, all thanks to two friends in our ward, Carolyn Pyle and Kari Day and who took care of the food and decorations.

We didn't get any pictures of the entire room, but the decorations looked so good and the reception turned out great.

Christmas Break Festivities

We've changed this post about 3 times now, but decided to add a few things that have gone on throughout Christmas break with our family. First off, Erin, Wendy and I drove to Phoenix to pick out a wedding dress for Erin! We won't post any pictures of the dress, it has to be a suprise! Grandma, aunt Starla and Aunt Danette came for the support. Here's Erin & Wendy (with her Claire's glasses reflecting in the sun) outside the dress store. It was exciting, she found the perfect dress at the second store we went to.

Chris came down this week from Salt Lake. While the girls were shopping in Phoenix, Gene & him got a chance to work on the Mustang together. Here are a few of their pictures:

Today we really wanted to get some family pictures taken after church before Chris headed back to school. These are our last pictures together before Erin gets married! We asked Wendy's friend, Ashlee to snap a few shots of us. Kacie was not in the mood and more interested in looking at bugs outside, so it was very difficult to get her to cooperate.

Bribery! Kacie really wants to wear glasses, but was disappointed at her visit to the optometrist, to find out she doesn't need them. So she found these "vanity glasses" and reeaallly wanted them. We told her after she got both ears pierced, she could have the glasses.

On Saturday Wendy and her friend took Erin and Adam up to Ramsey Canyon and took their engagement pictures! They turned out so cute. Wendy is an Adult!

Wendy turned 18 on Monday the 1st! (the camera date is wrong...) During the day we went to Thatcher together so that she could get enrolled in school. Once we got back to Sierra Vista, Wendy saw a movie with a few of her friends Ashlee, Benjamin and Josh while Erin and I made breakfast for dinner. Here are a few pictures of the evening:

1990 Mustang LX car project

Here is Chris and his 1990 Mustang LX hatchback back in 2003. This was at a Chevy dealership he worked at in Danville, Indiana near Indianapolis.

Here is Chris's Mustang in 2003 at Indianapolis Raceway Park drag strip. Chris was driving and I think it ran around 14 seconds at 95-100 mph in the quarter mile.

Five years later I am getting started on making the Mustang a more serious car for the street and strip (drag strip). One of the first projects on our 1990 Mustang was to install subframe connectors. This will help keep the car frame from twisting under high torque loads.

Countdown to the Big 5-0

Nov. 4th was my 49th Birthday . . . gettin pretty old! But we had a good time celebrating. Gene took us all out to El Paso BBQ, my current favorite restaurant. He also bought mirrored doors for our closet, which I have wanted for a long time. The girls got my favorite soaps from Bath & Body Works, and picture frames for the family pictures we had done last April. Here are a few pictures we took when it was time for birthday cake. Kacie was anxiously awaiting the chance to help me blow out the candle.

Netter said she wants me to blog my broken arm. Here's a picture of the nasty scar and bruising. This is 5 days after the cast came off and stitches were removed. (Halloween . . . Kacie was afraid of it.) It will take 6 months of occupational therapy to get "as good as it's gonna get" according to the doctor. May get full range of motion back, and may not. The scar and movement improve a little each day, but it's still stiff and sore. I have exercises to do and I'm not allowed to lift anything heavier than a coffee cup.

Kacie has been bugging Wendy to cut her hair for weeks! Wendy told her she would not cut it until after Halloween so that Kacie could have long hair when she was Hannah Montana. Here are some before and after shots!

Hannah Montana

So, it's not Halloween YET. But, Kacie picked out her Hanah Montana Halloween costume tonight and couldn't wait to try it on when she got home. Wendy and Kacie had fun with the hair straightener and some make up . These are the pictures we took of their dress up party.

Wendy's Post.... Saying goodbye to Clay

Hello all, it's Wendy. I decided to post a blog because my family does not update this very often, and I've been trying to keep in touch with a lot of Clay's family through the blog since he's been gone. If they see this, our blog may finally have something that will spark their interest! haha.

Well, it has been a total of 8 days since I've said goodbye to Clay! Things have gone way better than I expected, but still weird at the same time. Here are a few pictures of us before we said our goodbyes!

Also, I just decided that you must set the song to Mexico by Cake as you read, it adds more to the experience haha. This is a picture of us taken after church on his last Sunday in town.
I asked him if we could take one more picture together and this was his response...

But he finally agreed! :)

Here are a few pictures of us on our last day together (I am an aweful photographer!). But the day was actually very fun. We ate at KFC (the place we went for our 1 year anniversary. . . so classy, I know), went rollerblading and then played games with friends.

We were playing a very intense game of Curses!

Not a very attractive picture... but it was the last one Clay and I took before we said our goodbyes. We were watching Iron Man, but it started getting too late and he had to say goodbye to friends. We decided to head to my house and hang out until we were ready... it took about 4 hours but we finally did it. :) I sent him my first letter today! He should be getting it on Saturday and I'm excited for his reply.

This past weekend we got to drive up for my mom's surprise 70th birthday party. It was the first time in a while that all 8 D's were together.

Chris got to come see us for the weekend. We made a trip up to Phoenix where we went to the temple and ate dinner with the family. Sunday Chris was able to give the girls back to school blessings.

Summer 2008

Kacie watches Sharkboy and Lavagirl at least three times a day. . .

Wendy and Clay watch it with her. . .

Wendy got to go on a trip to Rocky Point and attend EFY in Provo, UT.

Mom and Kacie went Letter-Boxing with Grandma and Carina. We found our first letter box near the San Pedro River. It was fun! (Even though Carina looks hot & tired)

Kacie took swimming lessons, played with friends, had a lemonade stand and played on her first softball team!

Wendy has been teaching her cartwheels!

In April our family got the chance to drive up to Salt Lake to go to conferece. We also got to take family pictures together which we hadn't done for about eight years. It was about time!
